<p class="MsoNormal">I’m having some trouble figuring out the best way to correct assignments that were filed before I became attorney of record. I called the Assignments Division and they weren’t any help.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Here is the history of assignments:<o:p></o:p></p>
<ol style="margin-top:0in" start="1" type="1">
<li class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin-left:0in;mso-list:l1 level1 lfo1">Company A assigns to Company B<o:p></o:p></li><li class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin-left:0in;mso-list:l1 level1 lfo1">Company B assigns to Company C<o:p></o:p></li><li class="MsoListParagraph" style="margin-left:0in;mso-list:l1 level1 lfo1">Company C changes name to Company D<o:p></o:p></li></ol>
<p class="MsoNormal"><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">Thus, the current owner is Company D. However, TSDR shows the current owner as being Company C. Unfortunately, when the assignments between A, B, and C happened, the attorneys filed assignments (1) and (2) with an execution/effective date
<i>after </i>assignment 3. They should have been filed as nunc pro tunc assignments, but weren’t.
