<p>I interacted with Nils in one situation. He was on the opposite
side of one of my litigations, many years ago. And he was a true
attorney and counselor at law. The kind of adversary that you
would feel good about. Invariably communicating faithfully and
clearly and in good faith with his adversary and with the court.
He gave his energy to "getting the right answer" in a way that
respected his own client's interests (of course) but that also
respected the Court. A credit to the profession in these ways and
many other ways. <br>

news, but former INTA President Nils Montan passed away
yesterday afternoon. I do not know the cause of death, but I am
stunned as he was posting up a storm on social media in the days
before he passed. Nils was truly one of the "good guys" in the
trademark bar. He was the long-time Trademark VP at Warner
Bros. When he retired, he and his wife moved to her native
Brazil and that is where he passed. He was a very well-read guy
with a creative mind, Hollywood good looks, and a million dollar
smile. A real gentleman. Some of the younger folks in this
group may not remember him, but those of us who are in our 60's
will remember him fondly.</div>
