<p class="MsoNormal">\u201cThe Trademark Formation email went on claim that the attorney had \u201cmishandled\u201d the trademark application, and even urged the recipient to \u201creport\u201d them to the Better Business Bureau (BBB). \u201cWe have been in this business for over 10 years
and have always maintained our credibility,\u201d the email claimed. \u201cIt\u2019s not in our interest to risk that for a small fee.\u201d<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">The email then requested a $600 fee to amend the application, with an offer to \u201carrange a payment plan or negotiate a further discount\u201d.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">When the recipient did not immediately respond, Trademark Formation reached out by phone again. \u201cThey further claimed that \u2018my IP attorney\u2019 had filed my application \u2018wrong\u2019, and offered to represent me and give permission to abandon [the
attorney] and sign on with them,\u201d they explain. \u201cThey claimed to be personal friends with the examining attorney who was on my case at the USPTO, and [said that they] could address and fix the issue \u2018today\u2019 and guarantee that my trademark application would
be secure and move forward.\u201d <o:p></o:p></p>
<p class="MsoNormal">\u201cThey also told me that currently my application was \u2018rejected\u2019 and that the other party would be awarded my trademark name if I didn\u2019t act immediately,\u201d they added.\u201d<o:p></o:p></p>
