change of name. I don\u2019t think any state would allow a corporation to be called \u201cXYZ LLC,\u201d because it isn\u2019t an LLC. Unless you\u2019re converting from a Delaware LLC to a Nevada LLC (which is all the rage these days) or something like that, changing your entity
type will carry with it a change in name. If they bounce it when you file because it was a name change and not an entity conversion, I think we\u2019d be interested in hearing their rationale. Maybe they want you to record the same document twice simultaneously,
once as an entity conversion and once as a name change?<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<b>converted</b> from <b>XYZ LLC</b> to <b>XYZ ABC Corp</b>., and then assigned its trademarks to a new client of mine, who wants to record that assignment in the PTO.

other than a conversion document that doesn\u2019t even mention trademarks or any assignment of assets, let alone goodwill, since, apparently, when you do a statutory conversion, no such assignment is required. (The company can even keep its old EIN.)</span><o:p></o:p></p>
