<div>Your shorthand of the statute took me off-guard. It says "An assignment shall be void against any subsequent purchaser for valuable consideration without notice, unless the prescribed information reporting the assignment is recorded in the United States
Patent and Trademark Office within 3 months after the date of the assignment or prior to the subsequent purchase." So it's not that the assignment has to be recorded within three months or its invalid or anything like that, but you might lose your ownership
if the original assignor subsequently assigns the same mark to someone else and you haven't recorded before the second transfer and the second transfer is not within three months of the original transfer.<br>
