[Patentcenter] LMAO! - November 15th

In Susannah’s update a couple of weeks ago, the PTO said this should be fixed “mid-November.” Crossing fingers it’s true since they were able to do this before in PAIR.

The USPTO's response will probably be that Patent Center cannot be expected to sort documents in a particular order preferred by a law firm, and that the staff members of the law firm can manually move the pages around in a PDF to get them in the preferred order.

And it also appears that there will be no fix to ensure consistency with the bulk downloads of the E-OAs. Somedays you can filter the correspondence so there is a logical order to it for each application number. Other days the 892s are before the OAs no matter what you do. It takes away the option of dragging the bookmarks under the OA bookmark and splitting the file. It would be like receiving the OAs via mail and having the pages all out of order.
This may sound like small stuff but it is a pain for people who are docketing.

Looked at it. Are they serious? The first four items listed will be fixed - so they say - in December and January. AFTER EFS is dead.

I was just looking at the Patentcenter page --- it enumerates a relatively long list of things they'll be working on (!!!) in the next 72 hours --- and if you click through onto a following page of "other issues being reviewed", an even longer list pops up .....
So sad --- it's like life in a Dilbert cartoon .... and all of this is of such basic importance to our day-to-day work. And is there also a hope that all of this EFS shutdown is also to be a diversion from the January mandate for DOCX filing?
