But no, the USPTO has made it so that you cannot easily tell
whether or not you're still logged in, so you get these weird,
incomprehensible error messages. Whenever I get the popup that
I "may" have been logged out (which I have learned means I've
definitely been logged out), I close all but one browser tab
and start back at <a href="http://my.uspto.gov"
moz-do-not-send="true">my.uspto.gov</a> with a fresh login,
because otherwise I see weird behavior in tabs I didn't close.<br>

out after only a few minutes, and other times I might get a
whopping 30 minutes. </div>

<div>Yes, I know there are browser tricks to prevent the logout,

on Patent Center, and I select the keep me logged in
button when I initially sign on, and I notice that
quite often, even though \u201clogged out,\u201d merely
refreshing the page or clicking the bookmark link
for PC will let me back in. But, then I might
receive some of these errors or other strange
errors. A recent one was where I went to the
Workbench menu and selected \u201cView applications\u201d and
received a string of errors similar to what Suzannah
shows below. In addition, despite getting those
errors (in multiplicity), a list of applications
still appeared. Clicking on \u201cView\u201d in the Document
& Transactions yielded the \u201cyou don\u2019t have
authority to access this\u201d error, but I could click
on other links in the application (Application #,
Submission Receipt, and Payment Receipt) and see
what was linked. If I selected Application #, it
took me to the application data page, where I could
select \u201cDocuments & Transactions\u201d and see
everything in the file without the error message.
Going back to the View Applications page, if I
selected Application #, I got the no authorization
error again.</span></p>
