I just filed my first QPIDS request.
Hopefully, it will be changed soon so that non-practitioners

When filing the QPIDS request, I included
an IDS coversheet document that includes comments and
disclaimers about the IDS. This is something a particular
client wants us to file.

Patent Center did not automatically assign
a document description to this document. I proceeded without
giving this document a document description. I clicked the
"Submit & Pay" button. Patent Center displayed a spinning
icon and seemed to proceed. However, it did not proceed to the
payment page, and it did not file the QPIDS request. There was
no error indication let alone an explanation that the issue
was a lack of document description. I added the document
description "Transmittal Letter" to the IDS coversheet. Then
the submission proceeded without problem.

Patent Center should be fixed to expressly
indicate an error when a user tries to proceed without giving
all the documents a document description. The error message
should indicate that the problem is lack of a document
