a full term patent exceed the costs of processing that patent as the fees are set so that

apply, then the USPTO doesn\u2019t have to expend the time and effort to \u201cmaintain\u201d the patent. Besides each fee is to recoup the costs for the given thing. Thus, e.g., the application filing fee is to cover the costs of intaking/processing the new application,
examination fees to cover the costs for examination, \u2026 etc. and maintenance fees are to cover the costs of post-grant maintenance.<u></u><u></u></span></p>
