<p>Yes almost every year there is a game of chicken in which the President waits and waits until the last minute and then gives federal employees an extra day or half-day off for the day before Christmas. And this year, like nearly all past years, the game
of chicken ended with the usual Executive Order.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p>But nothing in the President's order says that this constitutes a federal holiday in the District of Columbia. So no, the Executive Order does not, by itself, give filers a free pass until the 26th for actions due on the 24th. See for example
