<p>The answer appears to be "no". I suspect the situation is that
the USPTO did absolutely no beta testing with any paying customers
of the USPTO. I suspect that to the extent that anything along
the lines of "testing" happened, it was only by persons who were
not at arm's length from the software developers. </p>
<p>Note, by the way, that the date that the existing systems will
get cut off (September 27) falls on a Saturday. This is a day
when every USPTO support office is closed. The same is true of
the following day (Sunday). I predict there will be defects in
the successor system. This means that Monday morning, September
29, will be a big day for lots of telephone calls to the various
USPTO support offices to try to get the defects remedied.</p>
