<div dir="ltr"><div>Thank you Carl, that did it.</div><div><br></div><div>As usual, PCT Help Desk was genuinely helpful. Here's the trick to share: on Patent Center, after you put in PCT serial number, and get to the near-last page where you're entering number of pages, etc, the last box is "Late Payment of Fees." That box has no handcuffs on it -- you can put in any number you need. It doesn't have to be a number from the two specific forms they list -- it can be any fee you feel like paying. You don't have to allocate it by fee code or nuthin'.</div><div><br></div><div>The wonderful PCT help desk person encouraged me to send a follow up paper with the receipt, explaining what happened, so the fees go to the right place, which I was only too happy to do to explain that Patent Crapper sucks.</div><div><br></div><div>Well, here it is, 2PM, and I have now completed the simple task that I thought I'd knock off in the first 20 minutes of my day so I could check someting off. A couple weeks ago when nothing was working, using Patent Center, I tried<br>
to file a PCT application with an ePCT zip file. Nothing was working (I<br>
think that was the day Patent Center just crashed, seconds after I<br>
submitted this very application), so i didn't pay the fees.<br>
<br>
The application papers are in the Patent Center file wrapper, but the<br>
"Application Information" page is not populated.<br>
<br>
I need to pay the fees. I check all the boxes and -- the fee for<br>
"International Filing Fee (first 30 sheets) with ePCT zip file" isn't in<br>
the selectable lsit. The only fee is " INTERNATIONAL FILING FEE (FIRST 30<br>
PAGES - FILED ELECTRONICALLY WITHOUT EPCT OR PCT-EASY .ZIP FILE)" (which<br>
isn't me), and the listed fee is pretty clearly wrong, based on my RO101<br>
from ePCT. I have goofed around a bit to try to get the right fee<br>
calculation, no can do.<br>

I have about 10 more days before the fees must be paid. Should I just wait<br>
until the application gets to WIPO, and then pay ePCT? Or send a paper<br>
check?<br>

I have not called EBC. I don't need them to tell me that Patent Center is<br>
misbehaving and that they can't do anything about it.<br>

Frustrating as Patent Center can be, the thing I find most frustrating is that something like David?s ?bug? could go away tomorrow with absolutely no explanation. I don?t have a better suggestion than Cathy?s right now, but if you wait couple of days (since
you have 10) the USPTO may correct this problem on their own.<br>
