I put in inquiries at Thrive, Park Bar, and Meehans for Tuesday at happy hour time.  So far, I received the response below from Park Bar, which has a private room.  If we have 75 people show up, that would be about $53 per person minimum.  I don’t mind kicking in that amount for drinks, appetizers and getting to network with you all in person.  But, I don’t know if 75 is a realistic number and how others feel about that.

I think Dahlia’s survey idea is a good one, but I agree that we need happy hour time choices.

Hello,

Thanks for your interest in Park Bar's private event space.

The room is available May 21st only. There is no charge for the room.  There is no fee for the room. We require that you spend a minimum of  $4000 food and drinks (plus 20% gratuity) .  Depending on the setup, we can hold 50 to 150 people.
Most of our events that involve serving food are served banquet style.  There are some exceptions to this where we may be able to do plated food, but that is evaluated on a case by case basis, and if that is something that you require for your event, please let us know so we can discuss further and determine  if it is feasible for your particular event.

Thanks for thinking of us for your party. If you are interested in reserving the room, we require a $2000 deposit to hold the date for you. It is non-refundable in the event of cancellation. It will be returned to you once your minimums are reached on the date of the event, or can be applied to your tab, as needed. Deposits must be received at least 7 days before the planned event day.  Exceptions to this rule can be made but must be approved by management to ensure staffing can be arranged on short notice. Minimums must be met by actual consumption on premises during the hours allowed for the event.  That means Gift Cards or "To Go" food orders are not allowed as a way to fulfill the minimum spend guarantee.

FAQ- FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

1)  Are you saying that I have to pay you $4000 just to rent the room?  That doesn't include food or drinks?
ANSWER: Not at all.  We require you to spend $4000 in food and drinks.  It is not a fee.  You get $4000 worth of our delicious food and thirst quenching beverages

2) Do you offer full venue rentals?
ANSWER: Absolutely, please inquire specifically as rates may vary

3) Once I pay you the $2000 deposit, how do I get it back?
ANSWER: It is refunded to you on the night of the event once the minimum is met and all tabs are paid.

4) How long would my event last?
ANSWER: Our bookings are for 4 hours.  If you require a longer event, please let us know.  We can almost always accommodate.

5) What is your standard fee or rental rate for the room?  Is it always $4000?
ANSWER:  There is no fee or standard rental rate.  The $4000 is just what we require you to spend on drinks or food.  If you would like a straight rental rate, please inquire about that.

6) Do you offer open bar or unlimited food options?
ANSWER:  Yes.  Rates vary depending on the size of your group.  Our rates are among the best in town.

7) Are you willing to do a different agreement other than the $4000 fee?
ANSWER: The $4000 is not a fee, it is just a minimum we require in sales.  As far as different agreements, we will listen to any offers, and would love to match any other arrangements you may be considering.
