[E-trademarks] TM Search: New Summary Page Available

I too hate having to remember to switch to expert mode, that I've started TM Search, done a few searches, and said to myself, "These search results don't look right.  And where's the box to tag records?  Oh, I'm in basic mode. Start over in expert mode."

The flip side: yesterday, I was reviewing fields that do NOT appear in the summary page (e.g., the description of mark, design codes, & miscellaneous statements), so I wanted TM Search to toggle directly to TSDR instead of the summary page.  Oh!  Just switch from expert mode to basic mode.  This was the one time I preferred basic mode, though regretting I could no longer tag records, plus having to remember to switch back to expert mode when that review was complete.

Wait ... don't the description of mark and miscellaneous statements appear on registration certificates, so shouldn't those fields appear on the summary page?  Asking for a friend. ;-)

Ah, I think that was it. I logged out and logged in, but I didn't check to see what mode I was in. Indeed, ridiculous design. We though TESS was finicky, but it was kindergarten compared to this.

I used MyUSPTO to sign it and it showed by name at the right top.

Then I used the link under Favorites to Search Trademarks….

When I was connected to the Search function, I noticed that my name was no longer on the top right – so the system had logged me out – or whatever you call it…. At that point I had to hit Sign In and my name miraculously appeared in the upper right hand corner again.

Then when I used expert mode in my search I was taken to the Summary.

I have the same problem. Earlier in the day I logged and it worked fine, but now, even though I'm logged in, it's taking me to TSDR. I logged out and logged back in, it's still taking me to TSDR.

Does you name appear on the top-right corner of your TM Search window like mine in the snapshot below?

That is, I'm guessing that's what TM Search displays to confirm that the search session is aware that you've entered your my USPTO account (which seems ridiculous to me to access the summary feature, but what do I know?).

Other than that, I don't have any clues of what to check.  Sorry

I opened Trademark Search.

I checked the announcements.

I selected expert mode and performed a search.

I noticed on the top right of results page a subtle Sign in label (snapshot below).

I did sign in to my USPTO account.  Once I did that, that top right label on the screen changed to

and when clicked on an image or word mark among my results, instead of opening a new window with the TSDR view, the new summary window was provided (which includes View Details label that opens the TSDR view).
