Hi Kevin,

The only potential issue I see is if you had an associate who wasn’t listed on the application call the examining attorney, they might run into a roadblock if the firm names don’t match. Since you are merely dropping one of the names from the firm, I imagine examining attorneys would understand and not cause an issue. But some might…

Hi all,

As you can see from the sig block below, our firm is dropping the name of one of our retiring members.  Everyone’s physical addresses and phone numbers will stay the same other than the firm name, and the old email addresses (which haven’t changed yet) will continue to work.  If communications from the PTO and clients will still get where they need to go, is there an obligation to update the attorney information via a CAR or otherwise?
