Regarding registrations granted earlier than 11 weeks after publication ...

4,527 results for RD:20241210 AND PO:20241008
5,046 results for RD:20241203 AND PO:20241001
4,700 results for RD:20241126 AND PO:20240924

Well, these 3 searches may indicate a new USPTO standard, as each of the last three registration dates had numerous registrations issued just 9 weeks after publication.

But some published applications are progressing to registration even faster.

2 results for RD:20241210 AND PO:20241105

That is, 2 registrations issued this week (12/10) were published for opposition on 11/05. That is, just 35 days after publication, registrations were issued. Well, 35 days is beyond the 30-day opposition period.

2 results for RD:20241210 AND PO:20241022

That is, 2 registrations issued this week were published for opposition on 10/22, just 49 days after publication.

Happy Trademarking,
Ken Boone

Dana,
Thank you. I had an offline discussion with Ken Boone -- there are evidently quite a few that do not happen at 11 weeks (both earlier and later).
 Sincerely,

Hi Tim,

Yes - I've had multiple of those.
I contacted the Examining Attorneys, and I've never gotten the same explanation twice.
Once, it was a complete mystery, but the mark registered the next week.
Once, the EA had "issued" an office action post-approval that was never sent to me and did not appear in TSDR (I do believe her that she wrote it up and thought it had been sent, because there are many issues with documents not appearing in TSDR and with documents never being sent by the USPTO's system - I had a Request for Extension granted over a week ago but never received a notification about it and can't see the document in TSDR though the status in TSDR says it was granted, and TAC confirmed that - so I just have a reference number for that call and a screenshot of the status in TSDR as my proof at the moment).
Anyhow, for what it's worth, you're not alone.

Best,

Dana Dickson

Has anyone had this recently? Registered today; I re-checked the dates and the notice, and 11 weeks post-publication was two weeks ago.
