Important deadlines: Submit your trademark initial application soon
Submit your trademark initial applications before these deadlines to avoid losing your work:

  *   For initial applications in progress, submit by December 31.
  *   For applications started on or after January 1, submit by January 17.

Important deadlines: Submit your trademark initial application soon
December 31, 2024: Every year, the ID Manual is updated on January 1. This affects our filing systems in different ways.

  *
Trademark Electronic Application System (TEAS) initial applications: You must submit in-progress initial applications by December 31 at 11:59 p.m. ET. You can’t use your previously saved OBJ files and in-progress electronic signature requests after the December 31 update.
  *
Trademark Center: You’ll continue to have access to your drafts. If you don’t submit the application by December 31, you must re-enter your goods and services and resend any outstanding electronic signature requests.

January 17, 2025: This is the last day to file an initial application in TEAS, and the last day to apply under the current fee schedule.

  *
TEAS: If you start an application in TEAS on or after January 1, you must submit it by January 17 at 11:59 p.m. ET. You can’t transfer your saved application OBJ files and in-progress electronic signature requests to Trademark Center.
  *
Trademark Center: You must complete all electronic signature requests and submit any draft applications by January 17 at 11:59 p.m. ET. Saved drafts will be removed from your “My drafts” tab.

January 18, 2025: The new fees<https://www.uspto.gov/trademarks/fees-payment-information/summary-2025-trademark-fee-changes> will be in effect. The TEAS initial application forms will be retired, and Trademark Center will be the only place to file a trademark application. These five initial application forms in Trademark Electronic Application System will be retired:

  *
TEAS Plus/TEAS Standard Application 
  *
Trademark/Servicemark Application, Supplemental Register 
  *
Certification Mark Application, Principal Register 
  *
Collective Membership Mark Application, Principal Register 
  *
Collective Trademark/Servicemark Application, Principal Register
