What a reminder this is that a person can learn a lot by paying attention to postings in listservs.

Rebecca reminds all of us that there are a dozen ways that an RSS reader (Wikipedia article<https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RSS>) is far better than Twitter (X) as a way to follow somebody's postings.

So for example anybody who wants to follow The TTABlog ought to simply add "https://thettablog.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default"<https://thettablog.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default> to one's RSS news feed.  If you do this, you end up with a very high quality "feed" that only serves up what you want, and that avoids the cesspool that is Twitter (X).

Rebecca probably added John's feed URL to her RSS reader a long time ago.  Only just now, prompted by Rebecca's posting, did I think to add John's feed URL to my RSS reader.

Only just now, prompted by Rebecca's posting, did I add an RSS icon and link to my own blog.  You can see it here.  I ought to have done this long ago, but I only thought to do it now, thanks to Rebecca.

John, I don't see an RSS icon and link on your blog.  It would be a good idea to add it.

FWIW: I now have automatic crossposting from my blog to Mastodon, Bluesky, an email subscription via Mailchimp (free account because I don't have that many email subscribers), RSS feed, and LinkedIn. It took a bit of kludging, but If This Then That is really good at most of it.

There's no shortage of alternatives (e.g., Mastodon, Threads, Bluesky, maybe even LinkedIn?), but none of them comes close to what Twitter used to be like . . . of course, neither does Twitter (you can't make me call it "X") at this point.
