Friends – If you want to remove yourself as counsel of record after a registration issues, but the owner of the registration does not have an email address on file with USPTO (because one was not required when the application was filed), how do you manage the statement in the form saying “I understand that a valid email address must be maintained by the applicant owner/holder and the applicant owner's/holder's attorney, if appointed, and that all official trademark correspondence must be submitted via the Trademark Electronic Application System (TEAS)."
Do you withdraw and then tell the owner they need to send in an email address? Do you get an office action? Do you file updated address info for the owner first, then withdraw?
Thanks!
