I got bit by this one and I’m SO irritated. Prepared three incredibly complicated multi-class applications with various filing bases on December 16. Signature link I received said it could be signed anytime until February. Client signed yesterday, and only because I found this thread did I figure out the problem. Had to re-submit all g/s and specimens, which typically may not be that difficult but here was a real PITA.

I have nothing substantive to add, I just wanted to vent to folks who would understand my frustration. 😤

I am glad that this weakness in Trademark Center did not harm any of my recent trademark filings.  I got lucky on this one.  The two that I had pending for e-signature before January 1 happened to reach their finish the day before.  But that was only good luck, not because I planned things well or anything like that.

We encountered the same issue when one person prepares the app (such as a junior associate or paralegal) and another person tries to file it (like a senior attorney).   Is that your scenario?

We have been using the Trademark Center’s Beta  version to prepare and file trademark applications.  We  have been using it for roughly 4-5 months now and there have been minor glitches but nothing like this.

Here’s one that we are stumped on.   We prepared a trademark application.  Sent to our client for signature.  Client has signed it.  We received the automatic prompt from the USPTO with the hyperlink to Pay & Submit.  However, the Pay & Submit hyperlink is not working.   We have called the USPTO twice and they are investigating it.  I was wondering if any of you have any ideas why the PAY & SUBMIT hyperlink to complete the trademark filing is not working.  Client has properly signed the application with the /s/ signature between slashes.  They have dated the application.  They have checked off all boxes in the Declaration.   Any ideas why the link might not be working?   USPTO is still investigating but I would really like to get this application filed.
