For those of you who have been on the list for a while, you know that I
have been fighting a multi-year battle on a set of six certification
applications that were filed in September of 2021 (as use based
applications…in use for several decades).  Many of them were approved for
publication multiple times and then pulled and returned for further
examination.  Many of them were lost in some inter-department black holes
for 6, 9, 12 months at a time.  Our colleague, Lara Pearson, even drafted
an ode to their journey, reproduced here for the list’s amusement and
edification:

Heather, oh no!

What a total sh*tshow

Sorry this is happening to you

And no, I don't know what to do

But better all this happen in just one file

Even though it's taking quite a while

It could be happening in multiple cases

And then you'd have to see all those client's disappointed faces

Looking bewildered and perplexed

Wondering what the PTO will do next

Hopefully your client is patient and kind

When you tell them Gov't has clearly lost its mind

Rooting for you and hoping to provide a laugh

Cause what else can you do with the PTO's gaffes?

Well, today, the journey is finally over.  The last 4 of the six achieved
registration.  The client is thrilled, nay amazed, that this day has
finally come, as am I.

And so, in honor of our friend and resident poet, I offer the following
Irish-ish blessing to all of you

May your Office Actions be simple

May your Examiners be kind

May your clients be prosperous

May the PTO not make you lose your mind.
