[E-trademarks] A new (to me) scam?

Hello Dear Colleagues:

I just received the email below, a new one to me:


"Hi trademark owner,



I hope you're doing well. I noticed that your trademark for [MARK] will soon be up for renewal in approximately a year. [Note: no, the renewal period starts in about a year]



As you plan for this, please note that: if your registration lists goods or services you no longer use, the USPTO will charge $250 per class in penalty fees to remove them during the renewal process. This could result in a surprising financial burden for numerous companies.



Here's what U.S. Serial Number [SERIAL NO.] [MARK] covers: "[LIST OF GOODS]".



Is each item or service mentioned still being provided to your customers? If not, you need to address this issue.

Honestly, they send this to the attorney of record? I guess I now have another domain I need to block...
