Yes, I noticed this also. It seems Patent Center and the Assignments search page are often not yielding accurate or even the same results. I checked a case yesterday that the Assignments search page showed the assignment, but Patent Center showed no assignments. I've also seen it the other way around. And in another case, we have the recordation in our files, but both Patent Center and the Assignments search page showed no assignment as being filed.

I've also seen instances where if I search the Assignments search page by the application serial number, nothing comes up, but if I search the same file by publication or patent number, it yields the assignment. These are published and/or patented cases. It should not matter which field you use to search it. It should work regardless. Frustrating.

Has anyone had success finding recorded assignments in Patent Assignments Search by reel/frame number?  The last 6 or 7 I've searched have yielded 0 results even though the applications are published or issued and the assignment shows in Patent Center.  I'm wondering if it's just my luck or if it's an issue with PAS.  Chrome and Firefox.

I am not sure if it is the same as your question, but recently I have had several cases where we definitely had recorded an assignment, and we have the Notice of Recordation in our file, but when we look in Patent Center under the "Assignments" tab, it's not there.

Hi Carl,

I can see the assignment details in Patent Center and I?ve received notices of recordation, but the assignment records aren?t found when I search by reel/frame or by assignee name on the Patent Assignment Search page.  I suppose if someone really wanted to find it, they could look by publication/application/patent number in Patent Center, but I?d like the assignments to be searchable through the USPTO?s assignments portal ? it seems like that would be an easier way for the public to find patent ownership.

This happened to us today. We definitely recorded an assignment, and received the notice of recordation and reel and frame number.

Sort of how rebooting Windows seems to fix most things, I log out of Patentcenter and close the window. When I open the window again and log back in, that fixes most things. It worked today for the ghost assignment.
