[Patentcenter] QPIDS filing in Patent Center?

I just filed my first QPIDS request. Interacting with Patent Center this intimate of a way gives me greater appreciation for my paralegals.
I found what appears to be a bug. Shocking.
When filing the QPIDS request, I uploaded an IDS coversheet document that includes comments and disclaimers about the IDS. Patent Center did not automatically assign a document description to this document. I proceeded without giving this document a document description. I clicked the "Submit & Pay" button. Patent Center displayed a spinning icon and seemed to proceed. However, it did not proceed to the payment page, and it did not file the QPIDS request. There was no error indication let alone an explanation that the issue was a lack of document description. I added the document description "Transmittal Letter" to the IDS coversheet. Then the submission proceeded without problem.
Patent Center should be fixed to expressly indicate an error when a user tries to proceed without giving all the documents a document description. The error message should indicate that all documents need to be given a document description in order to proceed.

Hi Victoria,
You are correct and a practitioner must currently load and submit QPIDS filings in PC. There is a note somewhere on the UPSTO website stating that the this is going to be corrected sometime in 2024.
Attached is the Patent Center Quick Start Guide for QPIDS. I can't remember where the updated guide is located on the USPTO website, but it wasn't an easy thing to find.
Good luck!

Subject: [Patentcenter] QPIDS filing in Patent Center?
Good morning list mates - I am a sponsored user for Patent Center, and I have not had to file a QPIDS filing since they shut down EFS-Web and I don't see the option for me to do it in PC anywhere. I assume it's because it's an online petition type filing that only practitioners have access to, so the practitioner would have to load and submit the filing, correct? Is there anyone out there that has had to do this type of filing that may be able to provide a little guidance now that everything is in PC? The quick start guide and info for a QPIDS filing is severely outdated. Everything still refers to EFS-Web that no longer exists and is no help at all. Why are the guides/info not being updated?!?
Thanks in advance,
Victoria
