[Patentcenter] Is Patent Center down? (Wednesday, January 17, 2024 -- 11:55 AM ET)? Can we not pay fees?

I don’t think that the fee payment issue is browser specific.

I just used a network utility to “ping” “fees.uspto.gov”. That domain mapped to “fees-dmz-alx1.uspto.gov” which got a timeout from “ping.”

A “Traceroute” to fees.uspto.gov failed.

NWOW (New way of working)? More like NWONW (New way of not working)

Also, and this may be duplicative, the PTO website (https://fees.uspto.gov/?auth=true) has this notice:

The PTO (https://www.uspto.gov/patents/apply/filing-online/filing-documents-during-outage) lists ways to pay fees during an outage.
For the credit card payment form PTO-2038, it says “Do not submit this form via Patent Center”.

I happen to have a deposit account but it may not sufficient funds to pay what I need to pay this morning. WTF!!! I will try to replenish it to add funds and see if that part of the PTO’s system works. WTF!!!

It’s definitely not all working right; I got in to a file wrapper but then the page would just reload and then at the search screen it says that publication application search has been turned off temporarily for maintenance.

Hopefully this afternoon it’s up and running reliably.

I got a message that it could not find the fees server. I cannot tell if my fee transmittal was accepted and it is just the fee payment that failed (because the issue fee transmittal is not in the IFW). I will try again, maybe this time with authorization to charge my deposit account.

It has been down all morning, but seems to be attempting to come back up. I just got logged in using Edge (which I have set to clear cookies every time it closes); no luck yet with Chrome
