[Patentcenter] Off Topic - Kind of

I trust that we all realize it was only a matter of time before the 
discussion might stray in the direction of "what is the longest word in 
the German language?"

And even then we need to clarify our terms.  The way the German tongue 
works, there are ways that a speaker or writer might very naturally 
conjoin some words to make a longer word.  So probably the interesting 
question is along the lines of "what is the longest word in the German 
language that is likely to turn up in a dictionary?"  or "what is the 
longest German word in common use?"

And the answer might be:

    Rindfleischetikettierungsüberwachungsaufgabenübertragungsgesetz

which, for those keeping score at home, has 63 letters.

It means

    Beef labeling supervision duties delegation law
