Yes, that’s what I’ve been doing so far.  But there’s a (admittedly small) Wise fee for that.

Carl is fond of pointing out, rightfully so, that if they have a Wise account, the transfer is very prompt and there is no Wise fee.

 

Also, not everyone has provided me an IBAN number.  Wise doesn’t seem to like SWIFT “numbers.”

Or I’m doing something wrong.

I pay my “foreign” associates via Wise, but I don’t believe any of them have Wise accounts. Instead, I use the FA’s wire transfer instructions (typically included in each FA invoice). I tell Wise the FA’s bank code (BIC/SWIFT) and IBAN account number, bank information, etc., and Wise deposits the funds directly into the FA’s bank accounts. Wise remembers the account information for each FA, so I don’t have to enter it more than once. So far, it has worked well.

I’m just starting to use Wise.  

 

Having a bit of frustration getting foreign associates to let me know if they have Wise accounts.

Asking their billing departments.  Only European so far.

 

Anyone have suggestions as to how to get them to respond?  Batting zero so far.  

 

Does anyone see a pattern, geographic or otherwise, as to where Wise is used most?
