[Patentpractice] Interesting notice from USPTO re data breach

The reason the USPTO email address is barely readable is that the PTO does not have a clue what they are doing  (and/or does not give a crap).

We get this barely readable stuff in office actions all the time.  And the new Patent Center acknowledgement receipts.  And we have complained about it.


I’d like to have heard the conversation between the senior staff on passing this turd.  We know where it landed, because we know who signed the letter.

The reason the USPTO email address is barely readable is, the original PDF was in blue or some other non-monochrome color.  And the CIO's Patent Center system halftoned the blue into blur.

Inquiries regarding this matter may be directed ... via email addressed to ugPto.gov.

I am pretty sure if I were to address email "to ugPto.gov" it would fail to reach its destination.  This does not instill confidence in our CIO.
