[Patentpractice] Translation from German to English

Thanks, Timothy. I did try Google translate initially, and the output was
not quite good enough. I can understand in broad strokes, but I need to
understand some of the details that are not clear from the figures alone
(or figures + Google translate).

And unfortunately this is one of those situations where there is no
counterpart application, so I was unable to find an existing translation in
Google patents.
