[Patentpractice] How to enter contacts into USPTO Address Book for use in Assignment Center (which doesn't work)

I was contacted by another person who told me that they were unable to see any of the contacts they had entered for a patent assignment in Patent Center. They also told me that they had talked to a third person at a different firm who said that for trademark assignments, they had been able to make it work when they had only one contact entered, but as soon as they entered more than one contact, nothing was visible.

I then went back and deleted all of the contacts I had entered except for my own contact information. I then created a new assignment and was able to see my contact info and add myself as the correspondent.

The person that contacted me is a sponsored user, not a registered practitioner, so that could be a reason that I was able to see the address book with a single entry but she couldn’t.

If you click on the little circled ‘i’ next to “Stored contact information” when you first get to the Correspondence information page for a new assignment in Assignment Center, it brings up the instructions (see below).

BUT…
I followed those instructions and entered my contact info and then went back to Assignment Center. I was able to add myself as the correspondent for a new assignment from the address book. I then went back to the Account page and entered additional contacts. When I went back to Assignment Center, no contacts at all were visible. I tried logging out and back in. I tried a different browser to make sure it wasn’t a cookie problem. I can’t see any of the 6 contacts that I entered.

I know that I should call the EBC and report it, but I just don’t have the time/energy to do that right now.

Here are the instructions that come up from the circled ‘i’:
What is a Stored Contact?
It is a feature that allows you to save contact information and pre populate that data in sections of a Patent or Trademark submission; these contacts must be added in the MyUSPTO account that was created to access the Assignment Center System.
How to add it?

  1. Log into MyUSPTO: https://my.uspto.govexternal link<https://my.uspto.gov/>
  2. Click on Name Dropdown andClick Account
[MyUspto Account link]

  1. Scroll Down to Address book on the Account Page and click “Add a contact”
[MyUspto Address book]

  1. Complete “Add a new contact” wizard
