Over the years, I’ve learned a lot from the members of these listservs, and I hope that occasionally I’ve been able to import some semblance of wisdom myself. I thank Carl for providing these listservs for the IP community.

But my participation is coming to an end.

I’m dying. I’ve been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer, and my lifespan is being measured in months, not years. I’m closing my law practice and working with clients to move their matters elsewhere. And I’ll unsubscribe from all of the listservs at some point as I focus my remaining life on spending time with my wife.

So to all of you, goodbye. It’s been an honor and a privilege to be part of the IP community and I wish the best to everyone.
