Subject: [Pct] two-factor authentication for those who use ISA/EP

For those who use ISA/EP, it is important to know how to set up and use
an EPO mailbox as the way to receive things such as International Search
Reports and Written Opinions. When the EPO was first setting up this
mailbox system, the only way for a user to authenticate himself or
herself to the mailbox system was by means of an EPO smart card.

But EPO has gradually been trying to migrate its users away from the use
of the EPO smart card, and over to the newer and more convenient TOTP
(time-based one-time password) form of two-factor authentication (2FA).
The key development is that EPO has picked an end-of-life time for the
EPO smart cards, namely the end of 2024.

This means that any PCT enthusiast that has been using an EPO smart card
to obtain ISR/WOs, and that has not yet gotten the TOTP 2FA set up,
needs to do so.

EPO is now offering three webinars explaining how to migrate from EPO
smart cards to TOTP 2FA. For more information, or to register, see
