Manually editing the package is incredibly risky. It would be extremely easy to make it essentially unreadable, the changes you make to the XML won't be reflected in the PDF and there might be odd consequences generally.

Much better is to go back to the draft application from the Workbench, click on the little down arrow. To the right of the file reference at the top and select "clone".

You'll need to give the new version a different file reference (eg add 2 to the end and remember to click "check this box to include the files making up the specification" - in the case of a US package, this copies over the numbers of pages, title and abstract even though obviously the files themselves aren't there.

You'll also need to sign it again, but otherwise it should allow you to make your changes.

Once you're confident that the new version is as you want, you can delete the original from your workbench so that it's not sitting there orphaned forever.

Best regards,
Mike

I just did this successfully. Use Notepad++, unzip it, find the right XML tags, edit them to the appropriate content, save it. Also edit the request PDFs appropriately. Then ZIP it. It's risky because you have to make sure you make ALL the changes in all the right places, but doable depending on the complexity of your edits.

Is there a way to revise an ePCT application filing package after you have created the .zip file? I know in PCT Safe you could send it back to drafts, revise it, and make a new PDF.
