[Patentcenter] Payment of Maintenance Fees

Hello,

You can go in through the maintenance fee storefront. You provide the application number and the patent number, it will the pull up the maintenance fees and indicate whether or not they have been paid.   You can also download the statements if needed.

Does anyone know how you can verify the payment of maintenance fees in Patent Center if you are not the Attorney of Record?  I was doing some due diligence in a case and could not determine whether the maintenance fees had been paid.  I called EBC to find out.  When they asked for a patent number I gave them one that I actually have receipts of payment of the 4 and 8 year fees.  I was told that no maintenance fees had been paid on the case.   This is a bit frightening.

Can anyone help?
