[E-trademarks] New Search System: used-based field and combining searches?

Thanks, Ed, I made the field tag search work, but the when I try to run Search 10 AND 15, the field search somehow is not the appropriate mode to be running. The amount of time I wasted today on what used to take 3 minutes is staggering. I am very computer literate, so it is not me. Thanks, the Trademark Office. 

I need to pull up about 20 or 25 registrations for my OA response (yes, to send copies of TM registrations to the Trademark Office, it has been efficient that way for years). I used to copy/paste all 20 Reg numbers into the old search window and that was it. I CANNOT figure out how to do that in the new garbage system. I tried the field tag search RN: Reg No. 1, Reg No 2……Reg. No. 20, it doesn’t work. I tried putting the Reg Nos in parenthesis, it doesn’t work.  Please help!

It reminds me of my youth in the USSR when an organization needed to report about improving/meeting the goals/exceeding the goals/innovating something by Lenin’s birthday/the revolution anniversary/New Year/Victory day/Groundhog Day  -  whatever the subject of the report was – it never worked as intended or worked extremely poorly. What was the need to dump the buggy system on everyone by a certain date before actually making sure it works and the users are comfortable using it?

Thinking of retirement…

To find records where the current basis is 1(a), simply type the following in the space next to "Search by field tag":

New Search is a total dumpster fire.  The few handouts the PTO distributed are woefully inadequate.  Through trial and error I finally figured out how to combine GS terms, but it will not reliably build sets or download search history.  I thought this was a Firefox compatibility issue, but  it isn't.  Go beyond 3-4 seaches and Chrome won't download search history either.

This is really sad.  They've taken a very reliable and powerful free search tool and destroyed it.  There could not have been any serious beta testing on this.

My only consolation is that, unless the examining attorneys are using something completely different, they are in the same boat and should be howling!

Looks like it's back to private search.  I've heard TKO is pretty good.  I just hate to charge clients for any private search when for 23 years we had a great "free" search that worked.

Colleagues, sorry if this has been discussed. I searched the list but didn’t find an answer.

(I so deeply hate this new search tool, why, just why change something that has worked and users have gotten used to).

I am working on yet another non-relatedness of goods response. I need to do search #1 for all marks for goods #1 and search #2 for all marks in goods #2, then I need to find the intersection of the two sets. 

-       I cannot figure out how to limit search #1 and Search #2 to used-based (1(a)) marks. It used to be easy.

-       I cannot figure out where the search history is in order to combine, say Search 1 and Search 4. Am I supposed to remember which search was which number??

HELP!!!

I didn’t find a decent tutorial or a help tool on the new search page. I might have missed it in the overall resentment of being forced into this new feature.

The problem may be that you are trying to combine sets with the drop-down box set to "Search by field tag." When I changed the drop-down box setting to "Search by all," after searching by field tags, I was able to combine sets.

A better Help page is badly needed.

MAJOR bug if we cannot combine sets.
