My GUESS is that both Plain and MIME fail to delete the long tail of prior posts; which
otherwise seem to require each poster to cull most.

do serve as a flag that a new numbered message follows.
My preference would be a single immediate past post. I usually can remember the context,
especially with a well phrased Subject line. It’s only a few extra seconds, but as “Mad Men”
advised (translating from British pounds), seconds make minutes and minutes make hours
not saved.
