[E-trademarks] Haloo.com TM Searching

Oh, I guess I should clarify: I do understand why someone would register a .co domain name instead of .com: Because the .com is not available or is only available for resale from the current registrant for a high price. What I really meant is that I don’t think choosing a .co for that reason is usually a wise move, because of the inevitable confusion that will arise (as we have seen in the original post here, which confused <haloo.co> with <haloo.com>).

I have a client who uses .co bc .com was significantly more expensive to purchase. So that could be one reason.

I know nothing about the trademark company Haloo. But I find it ironic (or, at least, interesting) to see that the company uses a .co domain name (the ccTLD for Colombia) – which, as the original email below (and the subject line of this conversation) proves, can be easily mistaken (or mistyped) for the .com version (which, also interestingly, appears to be registered by Microsoft as a typographical variation of its own <halo.com> domain name). So, three domain names – <haloo.co>, <haloo.com> and <halo.com> – all easily confused with each other.
I’ve never understood why anyone (outside of Colombia) would choose the .co ccTLD for use as its primary domain name, especially when an established trademark owner is using the .com version.

Hi all -- we noticed a new entrant into the TM search marketplace, and are wondering if anyone has experience (good, bad, or otherwise) with Haloo.com. If anyone has feedback they'd be willing to share, we'd be grateful to receive it (off-list, if you prefer).
TIA,
Greg
