That would be the OCIO (Office of the Chief Information Officer), the fancy name for the USPTO’s IT group, and that TEAS at USPTO.GOV<mailto:TEAS at USPTO.GOV> email address.

Subject: [EXT] Re: [E-trademarks] TEAS Sec 7 Request form - sanity check or a glitch?

Dear colleagues,

I posted a while ago about a TEAS glitch that doesn’t let me file a simple Sec. 7 amendment to a registration. The form asks for a filing basis which is dumb, because the filing basis is not changed and there is no window to enter it anyway. It turned out the glitch has not been fixed and it is still impossible to e-file a Sec. 7 correction of the use dates.

Does anyone know what would be the right number to call to reach the people who can actually help and/or fix the issue? I am not even sure what the right office would be to contact in the TMO. It has been a while since I called there.

TIA!

Maria

Subject: TEAS Sec 7 Request form - sanity check or a glitch?

Dear colleagues,

I am filing a Sec 7 request to correct an issued Cert of Registration. There is an inadvertent typo in the date of first use.

Below is the page where the dates of first use can be corrected. I did so. I did not touch the list of goods. When I click on the Continue button, I get an error message as in the screen shot below. Nowhere on that page is there a place that even shows the filing basis for the original class, neither is there a place to enter a filing basis (I don’t even understand why it would be needed, I am not correcting the basis or the list of goods).

I tried two different browsers. Nothing worked and I can’t move forward with the form without entering a filing basis into a non-existent window. I might have lost my sanity, so please help if you know what the mysterious issue is.

Thank you,

Maria Eliseeva
