[E-trademarks] USPTO proposing fee increases

Only if filed on paper.  $650 if filed electronically – which is still a big jump for something they claim costs $49 to review.

I represent a bunch of not-for-profits.  These fees are becoming hard for them to cover, especially for a multi-class registration.

Short story for applications:

  1.  Teas PLUS going away (sort of)
  2.  New standard app fee of $350 per class, PLUS $200 per class if you don’t use the TM ID manual (so TEAS-PLUS type filings go up from $250-$350 per class, Regular TEAS-type filings go up from $350-$550)
  3.  Additional charges for descriptions over 1K characters per class.
