[E-trademarks] USPTO Updates

I wrote to the Trademark Assistance Center last week inquiring into the status of the proposed fee increase. I just now received the following (mostly non-answer):

Thank you for contacting the Trademark Assistance Center (TAC) about Fee Increases and New Rules for 2025.

To answer your question, we are currently in the process of incorporating the feedback received during the public comment period—following the publication of the Notice of Proposed Rulemaking<https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/FR-2024-03-26/pdf/2024-06186.pdf>—into the final trademark rule. We hope to publish the final rule this fall with the fee adjustments taking effect this winter, but the precise timing of the rule is not yet determined.

Thus, the effective date for the fee adjustments is still subject to change; but please note that there will be at least 60 days between the final rule publishing and the fees adjustments taking effect. We plan to notify stakeholders when the final rule publishes. Last I heard (in August) was that the plan for the fee increases was pushed from fiscal year 2025 to calendar year 2025.  But no final rule is published yet.

Has anyone heard anything recently about the USPTO's intended fee increases I believe planned for early 2025?

Also, pendency for initial examination seems to have dropped slightly - the USPTO is now quoting 7.5 months and I am noticing OAs arriving a little sooner after filing.
