[E-trademarks] Seeking International Prosecution-Related Concerns/Grievances to Circulate at Annual Meeting of TM5

Dear all:

The five biggest national trademark offices (known collectively as the TM5, Home - TM5<https://tmfive.org/>) will hold their annual meeting in December. The program will afford user groups the opportunity to raise concerns about prosecution-related issues (especially those having to do with bad faith filings) directly with the leadership of those offices. As a representative at the meeting of two such groups, I’d greatly appreciate learning of any suggestions for improvement (however technical or petty) that can passed along to:


 *   CNIPA;
 *   EUIPO;
 *   JPO; and/or
 *   KIPO.

(The USPTO prefers to receive criticism about its own operations outside the context of TM5.)

This is a real opportunity to bring about favorable changes—for example, long-standing user comments at TM5 meetings helped bring about JPO’s acceptance (well, at least in theory) of consent agreements. Accordingly, if you have concerns you’d like raised, whether relating to the ex parte examination process or adversarial proceedings in China, the EU, Japan, or South Korea, please circulate them to me off list at tdavis at ktslaw.com<mailto:tdavis at ktslaw.com>.
