[E-trademarks] [EXT] Must a genericy refusal be finalized?

Once upon a time there were cases that (c) was not equivalent to a legal circle-c, ©, copyright notice.
Now that a circle-®, ®, is generally available to Mac and Windows users, I’d think a company the
size of Epic might want the more formally correct notice.
