[E-trademarks] Ah, these new filing fees...

This may already have been “asked and answered”, but:



To avoid the additional $200 fee for “free form text” (which previously was
included in the $350 fee for “Standard TEAS”), must we advise our clients
with International Registrations that regardless of the goods/services
described in those registrations, they now must squeeze the round peg of
their goods/services into the square holes of the USPTO ID Manual? Or would
that render the US application invalid (and subject to a $100
“insufficiency fee!”) because of the discrepancy between the original,
international registration and the attempt to save that extra $200 per
mark, per class? So effectively, every Section 44(d) and 44(e) application
starts with $550 in filing fees?



Arghh.
