Today, the search SN:99* retrieves 3,378 trademarks, the test application 99407680 (ASDFADSF) that appeared on TM Search on 9 January (and still appears as a live pending application), plus 3,377 new 16 Jan filings of the serial number range 99000001 to 99004391. Clearly, the 99-series has begun, two days earlier than I expected.

The search SN:/<98967800-98975000>/ retrieves 2 trademarks, namely the new application 98967800, filed 16 Jan, and the first divisional serial number 98975000 of the 98-series. The 7,199 serial numbers 98967801 through 98974999 remain unused for now (though I expect additional new filings for 16 Jan and 17 Jan will appear for that serial number range in the next few days).

Congratulations to TAHGIS IMPORTS for obtaining the starting serial number of the 99 series.

PS - I further refined my new application awaiting assignment to an examining attorney status on TSDR search to the following 2 searches.

SA:("new application in the record" AND "assignment to examin")
SA:("new application in the record assignment to examin" ~2)

Additionally, the search term applic occurs somewhere in that SA - Status text string, though other status entries also include the applic word fragment. I'm thinking there are enough typos / word fragments in the SA - Status field that the USPTO is too embarrassed to display the content of that field.
