[E-trademarks] Timing / Sequence - amendment to allege use

All,
 Have an application for which I will be deleting 1(a) and inserting 1(b)
in response to an office action. I want to then amend to allege use -
before it's approved for publication. The 1(b) basis will put the
application on track for publication, so I am wondering if I'm likely to
have time to file before AAU approval. I did this a few years ago, and it
seemed to work, but looking for more recent experience. And yes, I'll warn
the TMEx that I'll be doing so.
