Same here, Mike. Always save before submitting.

The PTO should put the “SAVE” button on the top of the page, not the bottom, so you can’t miss it.

My default procedure for every filing is to save the submission before trying to submit or pay. That way, when (not if) the system crashes or gives useless error messages, I don't have to repeat the entire filing, and can switch to another browser to attempt it again.
