Well, folks, I have to assume that there was some software defect in Trademark Center on about January 29, 2025 and February 11, 2025. We have by now received Office Actions in three US trademark applications filed on those dates, where the Examining Attorney plays dumb and pretends that he or she cannot figure out who the attorney is on the trademark application.  In each case, the Examining Attorney says that he or she cannot figure out whether <the name of our firm> is admitted to practice before the highest court of a US state. It seems clear that what happened is, somewhere in the workflow of Trademark Center, the USPTO systems shifted the firm name from the "firm name" field into the "attorney name" field, which overwrote the attorney name that had previously appeared in the "attorney name" field. We are now arm-wrestling with each of the Examining Attorneys, trying to get somebody at the USPTO to correct the USPTO mistakes.   --
