It's also misleading.  Those who don't know will trust the heading "Assignment Documents" to mean what it says, rather than "Assignment Documents filed prior to XYZ date. "  Egads.

Scott,

 So you're saying that TSDR (you know - "Trademark Status") will simply just show the assignment "status" based on whatever was filed before the new Assignment Center--and nothing new--and retain that possibly inaccurate status indefinitely? While also displaying the (hopefully) correct ownership information?

 That is a tremendous disservice to users.

I can't see the actual assignment document in Assignment Center, just the fact that the conveyance type is "Security Interest" and that despite this, the Owner information has been updated.

However, if you click to the assignment, it says what was recorded is a "security interest."  Recording a security interest shouldn't change the Current Owner information, should it?
