Hmm. Don’t know about your specific error message…

But, I’m curious as to why the need to file the auxiliary PDF when a continuation or divisional and you have the requisite incorporation by reference paragraph in the spec for the CON/DIV?

Seems to me that the parent application itself is all the ‘protection’ one needs…

To add to the Patent Crapper stupidity, yesterday I filed a continuation that incorporated by reference the parent (filed as a PDF), so the client instructed me to file DOCX with an auxiliary PDF. It took until today to be able to see the application in PC, but at least it did finally show up (though had something gone wrong, I obviously wouldn't have been able to fix it on the filing date, which is super-annoying and yet another way PC increases risk for practitioners).

This morning, I clicked the box to download the IFW as a single PDF file, and the following (ironic, no?) message popped up:

[cid:image001.png at 01DA6B01.7715D5F0]
Fine, whatever. So I clicked download and saved the PDF file.

Now, however, I'm trying to download an issue notification in a different application filed pre-non-DOCX penalty, and guess what happens when I click just the single "PDF" link for the issue notification? Yes, even though I'm trying to download a single PDF file in a different application that wasn't filed as DOCX, PC is popping the same warning message:

[cid:image002.png at 01DA6B01.7715D5F0]
I can't figure out how to stop this behavior, short of logging out and logging in again. I ended up "printing" the issue notification to PDF.

As usual, bang up job, USPTO!

PatentCrapper isn’t living up to everything the USPTO said it would be.

I just now tried to view or download a document from a FW and … nothing … like watching crap spin around and around in the toilet bowl.

I had the same ridiculous message yesterday in trying to download a document in the Patent Center. After waiting ten seconds, I tried again and the download worked.

Pro tip: during those ten seconds, I gently chanted “I love the Patent Center.” This seems to work for many issues, though for some bugs, it may take several years of chanting.

Today is the day that the USPTO has mailed out a Notice of Allowance in one of our cases. Except of course not really. The USPTO loaded a Notice of Allowance into IFW and notified us that it is in IFW.
So of course our next step is to go into IFW and try to download the Notice of Allowance. What happened next is, the hourglass spun and spun. After some minutes, this very helpful error message popped up. It is not clear to me what exactly the error is, so I guess I should click "close".
