[Patentcenter] Can newly filed application number in 2024 be smaller than ones filed in 2023?

Hi Carl,


Question 1:

I filed a design in Nov 2023 via Patent Center, and received efile and 
official filing receipt with an application number 29/918,xxx

I filed 6 designs a few days ago in mid Jan 2024 (also via Patent 
Center), and received all six efile receipts with all application 
numbers 29/908,xxx

Why would the numbers go back by 10,000. Very curious of what's happening.


Question 2:

Design issue number has moved forward by 1 digit, but the IDS form is 
not updated to allow for the extra digit. Where do I report that to have 
the forms updated? Is there a link via Patent Center where one can 
submit a request to fix something?
